[греч. bio(s) — жизнь и genes — порождающий, рождающийся; англ. amino — группа NH2, от ammonia — аммиак, от лат. sal ammoniacus — соль Аммона, нашатырь]группа азотсодержащих органических соединений, образующихся в организмах человека, животных, растений и бактерий путем декарбоксилирования аминокислот, т.е. отщепления от них карбоксильной группы (-COOH). Наиболее известны кадаверин, путресцин, агматин, которые образуются соответственно из лизина, орнитина и аргинина. К Б.а. относятся также некоторые гидрофильные гормоны (гистамин, серотонин, мелатонин). Многие Б.а. синтезируются при анаэробных (гнилост-ных) процессах распада белковых веществ (в т.ч. в кишечнике), вызванных микроорганизмами (см. анаэробы), они часто токсичны для животных и человека.Толковый биотехнологический словарь.
